ABOUT ME

From the very young age of 4 I joined my local team, Kilwinning Rangers FC 2008, and have been there ever since. Remaining loyal to this club has allowed me to build strong relationships with my coaches and teammates and to grow into a reliable team player. Over the course of the years, I’ve mainly been playing in the midfield position but I’m willing to play anywhere else if my coaches require me to.

In recent years my team has been competing in the PJDYFL Division 1. We have placed in the top 5 for the four years we have been in the league and have also reached the final of the League Cup once and the Divisional Cup twice. The standard of football in this league is very good as it is one of the best in Scotland for my age group. Playing at this standard I have gained valuable experience playing against tough opposition and it has pushed me to consistently do my best every game and become a better overall player.

As well as playing with my team I have been trying to improve myself as a player by going to private 1 to 1 sessions with a Kilwinning Rangers FC first team player who plays at semi-pro level. These sessions are weekly and work on various football attributes like, dribbling, passing, first touch, finishing, agility and endurance. I have also been going to the gym in my spare time to improve my overall health and fitness. In my gym sessions I aim to increase muscle mass, speed, explosiveness and carry out injury prevention exercises that will enhance and maintain my football journey.

I now look to take the next step in my footballing career by combining my football/soccer with a higher education in the United States. The opportunity to compete in the college football/soccer system is especially appealing as it will allow me to train and play at a high level while working towards a university degree. I am eager to grow personally and academically by experiencing life in the USA. This will give me the chance to broaden my horizons, become more independent and develop skills which will set me up for the future.

I hope to contribute positively to my future university both as a hard-working, team-oriented player and as a committed student, making the most of the opportunity to represent the program with professionalism and pride.
