ABOUT ME

Ben began in playing soccer in 2009 when he was 6 years old playing for Bloxwich Saints. He would play against academies such as Birmingham, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion. At the end of this season he was awarded Top Goal Scorer.

In 2012, he then moved on to playing for Real Bloxwich, then Cresswell wanderers, and onto Tipton Youth. During these years there were many awards such as Players Player/Managers Player/Parents player.

In 2013, he won the Golden Boot Award at a National tournament in Butlin’s. He was awarded this award by the footballing Liverpool legend, John Barnes. His family was extremely proud of him and his managers also. He continued to play for Rushall Olympic, whilst also potentially beginning training for sprinting.

Ben is exciting to watch when he is in the right mind frame and determined to perform to the best of his ability. He took part in an athletics competition two years in a row and won Gold in both 100m sprint, and 200m. Then in 2019, at Walsall Academy, he won Male Athlete of the Year. He has his name on a plaque at the front of the school or all to see.

Ben was scouted for a professional Football Club in England which is local to his hometown. But unfortunately then came the pandemic. Over the next two years Ben has focused on his physical abilities. He has been assisting teaching in his school, alongside of coaching the school’s football teams. Ben also enjoys going to the gym in his spare time, and still goes running to help improve his fitness.

Recently, he was nominated to be the baton bearer at the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay for the Commonwealth Games. This is due to his continuous commitments and efforts at his school, the Head of Physical Education put Ben forward to highlight all his hard work. Overall, he is naturally driven to excel in a sporting career, as this is where he strives.

Ben deserves the experience from the opportunities that an American Scholarship would provide, as he has worked hard all of his adolescence. He wants the opportunity to be able to progress further as well as maintain his football career. To gain professional development surrounding health and fitness, and hopefully get a sports degree.

This opportunity to Ben is a once in a lifetime chance. He believes if he doesn’t push himself to this challenge he will regret it for the rest of his life. His determination is inspiring, and people who have worked with him over the years are extremely proud of the young man and athlete he is becoming. He hopes that he is able to take this experience and make a life for himself. Ben wants to be able to push himself out of his comfort zone and gain a variety of life skills. He has compassion for being a team player, and is supportive to his peers. Ben is keen to begin his college experience and intrigued by the journey ahead.
