ABOUT ME

Joshua has played football since the age of 5 and has played for several different clubs.

From the age of 10 Josh represented his county squad of Cardiff and the Vale. At the age of 12 Josh played in the Junior premier league for local Welsh academy PG10. During this season Josh played in a league against many English league 1 and league 2 academies such as Cheltenham FC, Newport FC, Forest Green FC and Charlton FC.

Joshua captained his side to a league title as they beat Cheltenham FC back-to-back to win the title. This gained PG10 a spot into the league winners' cup where 6 teams out of a competing 105 played several matches against each other in order to be crowned as the best under 12 academy in Wales and England. PG10 eventually placed 3rd as they were beaten on penalties by Torquay United.

Since 2018 Josh has played for both Taffs Well academy and Cardiff and the vale county. Whilst playing for his county, Josh has received 2 player of the year awards, 1 squad man of the year award and has captained his county to an English Cup semi-final in 2021. This semi-final was a huge achievement as it was the first time in over 17 years a Welsh county had made it this far in an English competition.

During the last 3 years, Josh has played youth football at Welsh academy side Taffs Well, where he has played in the under 19’s Cymru Premier Development league and the Under 18’s Faw academy league. In his most recent season, the Under 19’s Taffs Well side have just recently won the Cymru premier development league and the Under 18’s are unbeaten in over 7 league games. Josh has also recently started playing men's football where his team are now in the quarter finals of the Cardiff Cup.

During his 4 years in America Josh is looking to gain a brilliant education alongside fantastic sporting experience. He is looking to be a part of a hardworking, competitive and close team that is tenacious to win matches and had the drive to win championships. He is also looking to make new long-lasting friendships with teammates and other students across the university he attends in order to further develop his social skills and to gain experience in a different aspect of life.

By studying in America, Josh believes that it will allow him to have the best educational and sporting experience that he can possibly have. This is because Josh massively appreciates the togetherness of college communities and wants to experience sport in a way like no other. Josh will be looking to achieve a degree in accounting after 4 years in hopes of eventually becoming a chartered accountant. Through studying in America, he believes the life lessons and experience he will gain from across the world will be unmatched to anything he could experience in the UK. This 4-year experience will help him throughout his life and career long after university.
